In the memorial garden I planted for my deceased grandson, Gavyn Loyd, I have columbine flowers planted next to the statue of a small boy playing with puppies. I have been watching art education videos and looking at Hugo van der Goes, The Adoration of the Kings (Monforte Altar), c. 1470 in the foreground are some flowers inserted as a symbol. I learned nothing happens by accident in these stilted salon paintings. Columbine represents the Holy Spirit in Christian art works of the middle ages.
