Teaching Strategies for Early Childhood Education
We recently spoke with a few teachers on how they bring important content learning & investigations to outdoor play. This teacher introduced predicting & graphing on the playground! During a study of balls, each child was invited to choose a ball from the classroom that he/she predicted would roll down the slide. Using chart paper & photographs of the individual balls, children were able to then document their findings after testing their predictions. How have you introduced graphing…

Therefore, there was no sleeping in for this tired mama. Which wasn't good, because I thoroughly anticipated a snow day today and went to bed way too late last night! But anyway, enough rambling... I…
We have spent this week learning about snow and snowmen! The children have had a blast, and we were SOOO happy that we were finally able to make it outside. You see, here in frigid North Dakota, there are many days we can’t go outside because it is just too cold!! On Monday, the windchill was –17 degrees. Yep, that a MINUS in front of that 17. And that’s not even the coldest it gets! eeek!! So, we’ve been staying cozy and warm reading books about snowmen. Here are the books we’ve read so…
