The First Anglo-Boer War or Transvaal War, was fought 16 December 1880 until 23 March 1881 - clash between British and Transvaal Boers. The Second Anglo-Boer War, or South African War, 11 October 1899 - 31 May 1902 was fought between British Empire and the two independent Boer republics of the Orange Free State and the South African Republic (Transvaal Republic).
