Victoria Bay or as locals call it Vic Bay is situated 3km’s off the N2 between the towns of George and Wilderness. The starting point for these stunning trails is Diepwalle Forest Station, situated 25 km north of Knysna along the Uniondale road. There are 3 trails and each trail is colour coded for easy identification. Along with 30 m high yellowwoods, other trees to spot are stinkwood, ironwood, white pear, and Cape holly. Birds to look out for are the Narina trogon, red-billed wood hoopoe, olive woodpecker, black-headed oriole and the Knysna turaco (loerie). Vervet monkeys can often be seen clambering…

The Montagu Pass was officially opened on the 19th January 1848. The official opening took place at the Keur River bridge in the pass.
