Easy Milk Tart recipe, Melk tert
I am all for easy cooking and this Milk tart recipoe is the easiest and the tastiest I have come across. The filling is creamy and dusted with cinnamon to make it a real treat
The first time that I had "souskluitjies" for dessert, was at my Grandma Naomi Uys's house in Johannesburg when I was about 15 years old. My Ouma was a very grand lady - perfectly groomed, well-traveled, informed and very stylish. Their townhouse in Northcliff was impeccable, filled with beautiful Persian carpets and mohair curtains.
The Best Koeksister recipe & my adventures in the Klein Karoo
It was only about 3 hours into the drive along Route 62 when I realised what I was actually doing; I was travelling 400km into the middle of the Klein Karoo (aka nowhere) in search of 'The Perfect Koeksister'. In 2010, when I first started looking for recipes for boerewors online, it amazed me that this ubiquitous South African sausage, available in every supermarket and butchery and corner joint in…
I am not entirely sure how to describe these little morsels – think doughnut minus the hole and without the sweet topping; yip, that is about right, well sort of. Vetkoek is a proudly South A…
