Just down the road from the schoolhouse in the last picture is Benedict's Nursery, a family owned and run business that is the source of many unusual plants, including alpines and specialty rock garden plants as well as planted troughs. We attended a workshop there a few years ago to make hypertufa planters. Esther, who runs the place, had made these planters from old work shoes.
