Bobotie is a classic South African dish of gently-spiced ground meat full of raisins which is then oven-baked with a layer of savory egg custard on top to form a crust and keep the meat moist. Tradionally it is served with Yellow Rice.
Sadza this is the most common dish found in Zimbabwe and is stiff maize meal that is like a thickened porridge. It can be rolled into a ball and dipped into meat, sauce, gravy, sour milk, or stewed vegetables.
Moroccan almond Briouats (almond pastry with honey). The mere memory of these STILL makes my mouth water. I had them at a friend& family Ramandan celebration and can still taste the almond paste and honey filling inside.
