Think Tank, A New Collaborative Space - Bridge Point transformed our old "Macbook" lab into a new collaborative learning, teaching and meeting place. BPE staff voted to have it called the Think Tank. Programs, Codes and Loops, Oh My! - Ms. Gerentine and Ms. McLaughlin helped students bring coding to life through several "Unplugged" activities such as Happy Maps and Graph Paper Programming. Ms. Medina and Ms. Ricketson-Husain also traveled through classrooms introducing the Hour of Code with the Move It, Move It challenge, the Frozen challenge, Angry Birds basic programming challenge, and introductions to Scratch Jr. and Cargo Bot for the iPad.

Bringing History to Life  - BPE 4th graders enjoyed a Wax Museum project. Students research a famous person, write a speech, dress up and stand frozen as if they were wax statues. As guests visit the Wax Museum, statues to come to life and begin reciting their biographical information. Students use the apps FaceTalk, and Mad Lips to help master their speeches and created Trading Cards for their famous person using the Trading Cards App. iMovie trailers were used to advertise the event. Think-Tinkering  -Ms. Ricketson-Husain and Ms. Medina challenged students' critical thinking skills and logical reasoning skills by introducing several different apps and programs.We studied programming with these apps: Robo Logic 2 HD lite, Scratch Jr., Cargo Bot, Kodable, Run Marco!, Bee Bot, Lego Mindstorms Fix It Factory, Tynker, and Hopscotch.
