Japanese Bronze Mirror, made around 1100 CE. It was found in a sacred pond beneath the mountain-shrine of Haguro-san in the north of Japan. Japanese believed mirrors allowed humans to talk to the gods and thus this mirror, along with around 600 others, was thrown into the pond as an offering to a god.
