TRATTORIA SEMPIONE • Venice, ITALY • Go after 8:30pm when the tourists thin out and it will be less hectic. Really excellent food, friendly service, casual dress, waiters speak many languages. Décor isn't much, but don't let that put you off when you walk in. If you are lucky, you will get a table overlooking the water! • 39 041 522 6022 • www.alsempione.com

A must visit! Cafe Florian, Venice Italy. The city's oldest cafe...1645. It is as much a museum as a great spot to sip a cup of coffee, listen to live music well into the night and enjoy the Mark's Square...Loved it! But we had Bellinis instead of coffee!

Sidewalk Cafe, Venice, Italy Yes, you can find quiet, picturesque little spots in Venice not overrun by tourist hordes. Not easy, especially in summer, but you can do it. Close to the Hotel Bartolomeo, not far from the Rialto bridge. https://www.google.co.za/maps/place/Hotel+Bartolomeo/@45.437991,12.337508,16z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x6ea32c69768f2e53
