Fixer Upper: Yours, Mine, Ours and a Home on the River | HGTV's Fixer Upper With Chip and Joanna Gaines | HGTV

The massive outdoor dining table, crafted from salvaged wood, is sixteen feet in length -- no small consideration for a family of nine, plus guests.

The table draws its inspiration from the work of Japanese architect Shigeru Ban and from traditional Asian joinery. The structure is designed on the basis of joinery techniques, which make it possible to put it together and take it apart without the use of screws, nails, dowels or glue. The table is designed to highlight the subtle beauty of the joints used in ancient joinery. design: Ania Wolowska

This is called the Ban Table. The table's eight pieces are carved by master woodworkers from Bacalar, Quintana Roo, in Mexico—the design is based on traditional joinery techniques found all over the world. Design by Shiguru Ban
