Pzkpfw II Ausf C why did the Germans still produced this Type after the polish campaign and not the Pzkpfw III and variants besides the losses it sustained it was also cheap and succesfull .they tryed to upgrade the vehicle by mounting a captured French 37mm SA 38 gun and double the armour from 14 to 30mm Fall Gelb and later Operation Barbarossa learned that was also not sufficient However the chassis was adapted to carry different kind of guns
The Panzer II was a light battle tank and inferior to the design of the Allies. Originally it was intended that the Panzer III and IV would be ready before the war began. However, the construction of these tanks was delayed so that both the Panzer I and II would see much more action than had previously been taken into account. The 10-14 mm armor was too weak to withstand anything heavier than a machine gun.
