My Natural Hair Journey

I stopped relaxing my hair February 2014 and decided to go natural. I wasnt brave enough for the BigChop so I transitioned instead. It was a long transitioning journey, I wish I'd have Big Chopped instead. October 2014 I was officially natural. And this is my Natural Hair Journey.

APRIL: I suffer really really badly from the devil Shrinkage. And after a wash this is how my hair looks. As I mentioned before I do not use any heat on my hair so hair stays like that until I decide to stretch it out through single twists, flat twists or three strand twists.

MARCH: This is probably the 1st time I've ever seen my fro looking so good, the sad part is I don't quite remember what product combinations I used, but My TWA was, fully stretched (as stretched as natural hair can be) and it was poppin. :-) <3

February: At this point I'm realising that Shrinkage is REAL, Shrinkage is not a Myth. I have learnt to embrace the shrinkage thou and I'm rather feeling myself with ny short hair.

This is the 7th month into my Natural Hair Journey and I'm noticing major growth. I must say I was pleasantly surprised because for months I've felt as thou my hair was just not growing. My fro was obedient today, its listened to mommy and cooperated fully, lol, Thank You fro for being a good girl. My Puff was Poppin and I used the Zulu tribe hair band to accessorise it and it made it look even more Amazeballz :-) <3

This is another pic of my perm rod attempt. I think I just need to invest in and discovet good products to get those perm rod curls poppin. I believe it'll get better in time, but its winter in south Africa right now so will be rocking protective stykes for a while. Will work more on ny perm rods in spring time..

I have really coarse hair. And I always see these naturalistas doing perm rods and getting awesome curls. So I decided to give it a shot. This was my 1st attempt and perm rods and it was not as banging as I thought, but I'm hoping it will get better with time.
