Lady of Lourdes
February 11th is the feast day of St. Bernadette! This commemorates the day when Our Lady of Lourdes appeared to the 14 year old St. Bernadette in a vision and asked her to dig up a spring from the ground and drink from it. The town thought she was crazy because there was no spring. However, she did not lose faith. St. Bernadette finally dug up the spring exactly where Our Lady told her to. The spring still flows to this day, pumping thousands of gallons of water each day. In honor of the Blessed Virgin, they build a basilica on top of the grotto in Lourdes, France.
