Malachite Merriment  Did you know that a group of Kingfishers is known as a concentration? This exquisite concentration, delicately perched on the bowl’s perimeter, is from our Masterpieces range, and is created by two of Ardmore’s leading artists, Teboho Ndlovu and Jabu Nene.

“The Kissing Elephants”, In this amazingly striking work, sculpted by Ardmore’s Sfiso Mwelase, with intricately painted patterns by Jabu Nene, two elephants rear on their hind-legs, their trunks entwined in a heart-warming embrace. The Great Zambezi Exhibition that takes place at the Cellars-Hohenort, from the 17th - 19th of February, 2017 in Cape Town.

Ardmore Ceramic Leopard Rider

Presented to the Queen and on display in the White House, Ardmore has elevated the craft of ceramics to a fine art.

Thabo Mbhele and Wiseman Ndlovu have captured the essence of our Zambezi theme and the incredible animal life which inhabits the mighty river, as did the writer Rudyard Kipling with his ‘Just So’ stories.

his Tiger Fish Vase, sculpted by Thulani Mntungwa and painted by Sydney Nyabeze, perfectly captures these fierce African predators, which prowl our rivers and lakes. The vase will feature in The Great Zambezi exhibition at the Cellars Hohenort in Cape Town from 17th to 18th February.

Sculptor(s): Thabo Mbhele Painter(s): Mthulisi Ncube Thabo Mbhele has skilfully created tension in this leopard and baboon urn. Leopards prowl at the base whilst a troop of baboons parade on the rim, taunting the big cats. Baboons are a leopard’s favourite meal but here they are separated by sumptuous aloes. Thabo and painter, Mthulisi Ncube, have together created an exotic, bright, African masterwork that creates drama and gives us an insight into life in the wild.

Ardmore’s first Water Monitor Lizard slithered it way to the ‘o’kavango' Charles Greig Exhibition at Hyde Park, Johannesburg. 17th August to 10th September. Stahbiso Hadebe and Bennet Zondo really enjoyed working with new subject matter.

In the Zulu culture, the King Fisher is a symbol of luck. With the launch of our new Zambezi Fabric range in JHB it seemed appropriate to share Teboho Ndlovu and Mthulisi Ncube’s beautiful feathered bowl.
