Ardmore Ceramic Art was established by Fée Halsted on Ardmore Farm in the foothills of the Drakensberg Mountains of KwaZulu-Natal
Sculptor(s): Thabo Mbhele Painter(s): Mthulisi Ncube Thabo Mbhele has skilfully created tension in this leopard and baboon urn. Leopards prowl at the base whilst a troop of baboons parade on the rim, taunting the big cats. Baboons are a leopard’s favourite meal but here they are separated by sumptuous aloes. Thabo and painter, Mthulisi Ncube, have together created an exotic, bright, African masterwork that creates drama and gives us an insight into life in the wild.
The Red Lechwe antelope inhabits the flood plains of the Okavango Delta. Created by Thabo Mbhele and painted by Senzo Duma.
Ardmore’s first Water Monitor Lizard slithered it way to the ‘o’kavango' Charles Greig Exhibition at Hyde Park, Johannesburg. Stahbiso Hadebe and Bennet Zondo really enjoyed working with new subject matter.
