From the Coulter family photo album, courtesy Hans Niehaus. Fred and Agnes Stephens owned The Homestead at Oranjezicht from 1907-1947. Their three sons were killed in the First World War. These photographs of a fund raising event in Cape Town, October 18-21, 1917, were taken by Charles Coulter who was married to the Stephens's fourth child, Alice.
