No ice cream truck here…the youngsters in this 1970s neighborhood got their frozen treats from a peddler pedaling a bicycle. The peddler’s cooler compartment kept the goodies frozen until the youngsters were ready to eat them.

I would like to introduce Michael Watson, a member of the Grey's Scouts during the Bush War and in the process of documenting its full history.

 During the civil war in our country we had to travel in convoy when we drove from place to place - especially long trips - as there was always a chance of an ambush attack on individual vehicles. Convoy

By the late seventies convoys were the only safe way to travel between many towns. Convoys were operated by the police and the escort vehicles crewed in the main by reservists. If the army was involved in a contact near a convoy route, the convoy would be delayed until it was over, which is what happened here. The delay gave me enough time to nip out the Mazda and take the picture.
